Pubblicazione su Digital Camera Magazine Italy

Ed eccomi qua, come promesso! Avrei voluto (e dovuto) scrivere questo post molti giorni fa, ma come sapete il tempo mi è sempre nemico. Come annunciato nel precedente articolo dedicato alla mia intervista per Talento nella Storia (restate sintonizzati perché ci saranno ulteriori novità targate TnS), Settembre è stato un mese ricco di novità ed eventi. Il più importante è senza dubbio la mia pubblicazione sul mensile di fotografia Digital Camera Magazine!

Verso fine giugno sono stata contattata dal mio amico fotografo Ettone per partecipare ad un workshop, le cui foto sarebbero state pubblicate sulla già citata rivista. Potete solo immaginare la mia emozione del momento, avrei voluto scriverlo a caratteri cubitali sulla mia pagina ma ahimè, il nome doveva restare segreto per i due mesi successivi. Ho potuto però annunciare l'imminente novità e il supporto ricevuto è stato incredibile, spesso si vedono i social come una realtà fredda e distaccata ma vi assicuro che in certi momenti vi potete davvero rendere conto di chi vi supporta e vi segue! 

Il giorno degli scatti lo ricorderò sempre: un caldo insopportabile, afoso, privo di aria sebbene fossimo in collina. La nostra location è stata l'agriturismo Cascina Cerola di Altavilla Monferrato (AL), un bellissimo posto tra le verdi colline alessandrine. La dinamica del workshop è stata molto semplice: due lettori (ovviamente fotografi) della rivista hanno partecipato ad un WS ad personam tenuto da Ettone con protagoniste me e la bellissima modella Elena Fortina, nel quale sono stati spiegati sia i principali errori da evitare in fase di scatto sia le regole principali per ottenere un buon risultato. Al fashion di Elena si è affiancato il mio modelling storico, questo per sottoporre ai due lettori due set completamente diversi e con caratteristiche differenti. Per l'occasione ho sfoggiato il mio abito civil war verde (mai come in quel momento ho apprezzato la scelta di averlo realizzato in cotone e non in taffettà!) e il bellissimo cammeo vittoriano realizzato per me da Red Rose Creation. 

La giornata è stata lunga ma molto soddisfacente, siamo tornati a casa stanchi ma felici. Dopo qualche tempo ho potuto visionare le anteprime di stampa e ho scoperto con sommo piacere che sarei apparsa non solo in copertina, ma anche nel sommario. In più, last but not least, sono apparsa nel numero di Settembre come anticipazione per il mese successivo. Ero davvero senza parole. 

 Ed eccomi qua, il giorno dell'uscita nelle edicole, con una bella panoramica delle pagine a me dedicate. Purtroppo in molti mi hanno scritto lamentandosi della scarsa reperibilità della rivista nelle edicole locali, l'unico consiglio che posso darvi è di ordinare l'arretrato direttamente presso la casa editrice anche perché siamo, ormai, in prossimità del numero di Novembre.

Hello there! As I told you some days ago, I had a nice time in Rome. I took some amazing photographs with Arianna Ceccarelli Photography in the Aqueducts Park, surrounded by 2.000 years old roman ruins. 

The location was simply suggestive: the park is located on the old Appia road archaeological area, a site every lover of ancient History (and not) should visit. The main structure is the "Aqua Claudia" aqueduct, started by emperor Caligola and completed by his uncle and successor Claudio around 52 a.D., which was the main source of water of imperial Rome. Aqua Claudia was known for its pure water, second to Aqua Marcia only. 

You can imagine how happy I was to be there: I was in Rome, in a Roman archaeological park, dressed like a matron. But it's not the only outfit I brought that day. We took some gothic shots as well, using the sunset fading light.

Meeting a photographer again after three years? Yeah, it happens. I met Alex Golisano last month for a new shooting, after three years from our last set together.

It has been sooo funny seeing him again and discover nothing changed! We took some medieval and fantasy shots as usual and I tried to do a different hairstyle playing with my braids. The result has been a sort of bavarian/princess Leila hairstyle which didn't want to stay attached to my head. I put several bobby pins to keep them in place but they lasted for some minutes only :( Anyway, people loved it a lot on my Facebook fanpage so it's ok :P

Girls do it better. This one has been my first shooting with a girl after such a long time, and I'm really satisfied of these photos! I meet the young Valeria in Turin, to take some gothic, medieval and fantasy shots. Nothing new, you could say, but this was her first medieval shooting and I tried to do all my best to make both of us satisfied.

Hello folks! Today it's a snowy day in Italy! It's the first snow of 2013 and I hope it will be the last ;) I never liked snow, if you live in a big town it means more traffic, more problems to get out and so on, but if you can admire this natural show at home, sitting at your window with a cup of tea... oh well, that's nice then ;)

Anyway, I'd like to show you some pics taken last month in Turin, at the Valentino park. I met for the first time the emergent photographer Silvano Cph to take some gothic and medieval pics, and our meeting has been great!

The pics are really amazing and I hope you'll love them as I do =)

Shooting: Il ponte del Diavolo

Qualche domenica fa mi sono recata al famoso "Ponte del Diavolo" sito a Lanzo Torinese, una piccola cittadina poco distante dal capoluogo. Approfitto del fantastico set realizzato con i fotografi milanesi Paola Saia e Marco Busato per parlarvi di questo posto, davvero suggestivo.

Il ponte in pietra si erge sopra la Stura e fu eretto nel 1378 in una posizione strategica, collegando Lanzo a Torino senza passare da cittadine sotto il controllo degli Acaja e dei principi del Monferrato, ostili ai Savoia. La spesa per costruirlo fu ingente e per far fronte alle spese si stabilì una tassa sul vino per i futuri dieci anni: la leggenda vuole che esso fu costruito dal Diavolo in persona, dato che i ponti precedenti continuavano a crollare, e che come pegno egli avesse chiesto l'anima del primo essere vivente che lo avrebbe attraversato. Ci passò un cagnolino e il Diavolo montò su tutte le furie, sbattendo gli zoccoli sulle pietre e lasciando delle impronte che ancora oggi attirano la curiosità dei turisti (il passaggio del cane ricorda moltissimo l'ingresso del lupo nella Cappella Palatina di Aquisgrana ai tempi di Carlo Magno, quando il Diavolo, che aveva prestato denaro per completare l'opera, pretese l'anima del primo che avrebbe varcato la soglia).

Il ponte è, effettivamente, suggestivo: completamente in pietra, ricorda molto l'abilità edilizia romana, capace di ergere ponti e infrastrutture con una facilità impressionante. Al centro sorge un'arcata dove un tempo si ergeva una porta, utilizzata nei periodi di pestilenza per tenere la città al sicuro o per evitare che il contagio si diffondesse al di fuori. Colpisce lo slancio della struttura, esile e sottile, a cavallo della gola scavata dell'erosione dell'acqua in età preistorica.

Il trucco e l'acconciatura presenti negli scatti sono stati realizzati da Paola Saia, mentre l'editing è curato da Marco Busato.

Shooting: Live Forever 80

New shots for the afternoon! ;)

I'm so happy to show you a preview of my classic shooting with Live Forever 80. We had a nice walk across Turin last weekend, taking some shots here and there enjoying the beautiful mild weather of these days. It wasn't a fashion shooting but a portrait session wearing casual clothes.

Shooting: Davide Scalia Photography

Last week I drove 50 km away from home to take some shots with the talented photographer Davide Scalia. I was really excited since I had to wear a new medieval dress and I was quite embarrassed because I didn't finish it on time. Yes, I sewed it by my own and everyone that day thought it was bought in store ^_^

The day was really warm and nice, we had a nice time shooting together and I hope to meet him again very soon!

I've a picture to show you, I love how he painted the leaves tones in red and brown. He retouched a little my eyes too to obtain the perfect autumn look, you know my eyes are naturally green. I'll post the whole shooting on my Tumblr profile, so check it out during next weeks! ;)

Shooting: "The River"

Last week me and Lele Photography went out for a nice walk in one of the many natural parks near Turin, where we live. With the help of two friends we managed to take some nice vintage shots. The water was really cold and full of mosquitoes, so it was not the perfect place for swimming eheh
I'd like to thank my friends Lavinia and Maria for their suggestions about my styling, I looked at many pics all around the web to find something nice and to look really...vintage. The dress is from the 70's and I used it last year for the concept dedicated to Flora, called "Madame des Fleurs". The book is "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen, I thought it would be a perfect companion ;)
